The Potter

During Carnaval in Mazatlan many activities take place in and around the Plaza Machado, the focal point of downtown El Centro. While buying our tickets at the box office for one of the musical evenings at the Angela Peralta Theatre, we noticed this man, giving a display of his art form. Quite a crowd had gathered to watch him. Did any of you guess what he was doing when I introduced you to him last Wednesday?

Soory, I was a bit late to join you in Mazatlan! So, I did not have to guess! Looking forward to some nice sunny pictures during the weeks to come!

love the photos despite of me missing the arty glimpse in his eye.

It looks like he is making a clay pot and is using a bowl as the base. That reminds me of what I do with cement to cast water bowls for my wildlife friends.

I would have never got it right. Where was Demi Moore?

I wasn't even close.

Well I was way out. You know, I'd have expected a potter to be more bent over. this one obviously sits up properly. Lovely portrait - both photos Kate and a fun competition.

Neat! Did you buy any of his pottery? I love those Mexican pot stands... I can always find something I like there.
