Boats

There are boats of different sizes and shapes in this community, many of which belong to fisherman. One of my favorite pastimes is waiting for them to bring in the morning catch. These boats are beached along the Malecon and are used by commercial fisherman, but by those who have only small boats instead of the larger vessels.

This is so very reminiscent of the Algarve. Nice depth of field, Kate

Appealing, a change for being, what seems, less regulated.

Boats and fishermen are as old as history I guess and the scenes never change much. It is only the greedy who use big boats and nets. I don't much like those or hunting whales. Fishing from smaller boats is fine with me especially when it is the little guy doing the fishing.

Thanks for visiting my blog and for commenting about the vulture photograph. To answer: I often take photos of things farther away but seldom bother to put them together as in this photograph. I did, however, put my dog "going and coming" in one picture using the same technique.

Love your photo today! I can almost smell the sea, and can feel the cool sand between my toes.
How I'll explain the cool sand between my toes to my employer is another matter....

Yesterday's shot is simply gorgeous. Today's shot is beautiful in it's simplicity. And look, true to form, all the boats are female ('cept AAA)

I really enjoy looking at boats and their names. I was never much of a boater, but I would enjoy it, I think. I admire fisher-people who make a living at it.

Love this photograph. The haphazard positioning of the boats somehow ends up in a wonderful design.

Can you buy their catch directly from them? As a child, growing up on the Baltic seashore, we used to buy flounder from the returning fishermen. Mmmm...I can still taste the fried, crusty skin...

Nice photo, I can just imagine what it is like when all the fishermen come back with their catch.

The composition of the boats makes this shot very interesting. I like all the colors and textures.

I didn't know that American Automotive Association had fishing boats too ;-)

Really lovely, reminds me of the port in Cassis, France. I'll be in Barcelona all next week and was considering posting from there. Nice to see that you've done something similar!
