A Door?

This building needs some restoration, which is taking place all over El Centro and, altho needed to continue its historical character, it's also driving up real estate prices astronomically.

Maybe they are building a bigger, more impressive door on the other side of the building.

Restoration is good. Some others would have torn it down to put up a condo.

I'm generally in favour of restoration which helps cities keep their characters but it does drive prices up as I've seen in Grasse.
It's shocking that the buildings reserved for the less well off should be shabby, dirty and dangerous.

My thanks for your comment on my other blog. It's funny to think that children we know might one day be famous.

Me too,
The wrong century.
The wall wash, the hand made bricks, the lovely proportions.
Stunning shot and yes, you could frame that one Kate.

It's weird how those bricks don't seem to be much newer than the ones in the wall, under the stucco.

I like the textures and layers of construction. Good find.

Absolutely stunning. The colours in that wall are just sumptuous. Interior decorators, in some of our capital cities, get paid fortunes to create walls like that!

I love this image. It's hard for me to see restoration when it takes away the beautiful decay and character. But it's also important to maintain the buildings.

i kind of like it as it is. Hope they will maintain the same character
