March Theme Day Mural

This house always intrigues me. I often wonder who lives here and why the mural was painted on it. Perhaps I'll never know.
ADDED LATER: I'm now at a cybercafe because I'm going to be without internet 'til next week. I apologize for not visiting more theme blogs--forgive me

Today is Theme Day with 144 bloggers from around the globe participating. Please take some time to visit as many as you can; be sure to leave a comment:

Happy Theme Day. :)

Wow, that's a nice one!

Or, you might serendipitously fall in to conversation with someoen when buying some pimientos one day, and voila! Your mystery house person!

This is really cool. Imagine if that was just a glaring blank wall? I love the way the stairway draws your eye into the picture and gives the illusion of depth, and the real trees frame it as if part of the scene. It would be great to find out more about the artist!

This one is an "oeuvre d'art"! Happy Theme Day, Kate!

Wow, a double shot from you for theme day! I love this one, too. It's really the largest one I've seen yet. Very appealing.

Wow, Kate! That's quite a mural. I wonder how long that took to paint. Nicely composed, too. Thanks!

That's really pretty, Kate!!! Amazing!!!!

I got thoroughly confused when I saw this but now realise I've just commented on St. Paul. Duh!

This is fabulous yet it's hard to imagine anyone painting a mural like this on a private house. Extraordinary.

That is an impressive mural; love the 3D effect. Great choice, Kate.

Wow! That has to be one of the coolest tromp l'oeils I've ever seen. Stunning!

This is one of the better murals I have seen in my lifetime. Whoever did it deserves more attention.

I love it.

Go knock on the door and get our questions answered!

Denton said...

A massive mural. It makes the term "re-painting the house" take on a whole new meaning.

That is a gorgeous work of public art. It certainly would catch my eye each time I passed by it. I've always found tromp l'oeils fun and fascinating to look at.

That's a lovely tromp l'oeil!

Question - how do residents get in?

Jim Klenke said...

It looks very beautiful, like it belongs on the wall.

I love the 3 dimensional parts!

Intriguing indeed!!
But wonderful choice from the "mysterious"owners of the house and you for the picture.

Beautiful mural, and I love it with the palm trees. It looks so nice compared to the snow and rain we are getting in Boston. It must be wonderful to be in Mexico right about now:)

Very beautiful. I wonder how long it took to complete.

This is great! It is a real trick on the eye.

Gerald (SK14) said...

if it weren't for the palm tree in front one might not see the house at all!

That is really a beautiful one. Is this a single family home? It looks like a nice size for one family!

You're forgiven Kate, don't you worry one bit.
Your mural is one of the very best I've seen today. What a beauty!

Ben Nakagawa said...

Nice one, Kate. Is that a private house? If so, I wonder same as you do.

Bernt Seipl said...

Kate, still your curiosity. Go ring the bell and ask! Anyone having his/her facade painted that way, can't be too bad. I'm sure they'll appreciate the visit.

Dear Kate Mura(l)... Very good find. And the detail is remarkable. I could stand there staring for hours.
