Semana Santa (Holy Week) is an interesting and unusual experience for foreigners. Solemnity is the prevailing attitude with religious rituals predominating in my culture. I'm sure that this is important to Mexicans also, but the atmosphere here is charged with gaity and fiestas! The beach is just beginning to fill up and traffic on the Malecon in front of our condo is already bumper to bumper, with every indication that there is more to come! I understand daytime on the beach, but cars are bumper to bumper on the road at night. I can't figure out where they're going and why!

The photos of the beach really makes me missing my summer time here.
Have a nice day Kate.
Great series of photos! The traffic looks scary, lol, but the beach ... beautiful!
De día toman sol y de noche se van de baile. ;)
Beautiful photos for sure. Strange tattoes :-)) and the photos of the cars almost bumping into one another lets me think there must be much pollution there.
The beach looks fun, not sure about the tats though. OUCH.
Wow! that's some traffic and the beach looks almost as busy.
Hi Kate - it is Spring Break and Mazatlan is the place to be! I agree with Jim about the tattoos - to each his/her own!
a ce que je vois, on les memes embouteillages ;o)). Belle serie de photos.Bon weekend de paques
a what I see, one the same traffic jams; o)). Nice series of photographs. Good weekend of Easter
The traffic is like that here at Easter. I'm off visiting friends tomorrow and have to go on the motorway (highway). Wish me luck!
That traffic looks a nightmare.
And those tattoos don't look much better!
What gridlock! Can it be people are going home after a day at the beach? Although a little too crowded for me, the white sand and warm water are sure alluring.
Oh, how I hate this bumper-to-bumper, but lying on the beach or going along there would be fine. It's sunny here but very cold. We have even seen some snowflakes.
I guess it's the spring break crowd & at night they out looking for a drink & kids their own age.
Hi Kate, I can imagine that, is the same thing on all beaches of the country and many other places of interest like colonial cities and archeological sites, because is vacation period for kids, teachers and goverment employees, meanwhile Mexico City is so quiet and relaxing!
