Part of the fun for those who attended
the Meow Mixer was being able to eat the food made by the Taco Ladies. They arrived with part of the food pre-prepared, but made the tacos on a portable grill so we could see the process. The precision with which just the right amount of dough was used fascinated me--not a gram more or less than was needed as each ball of dough was rapidly slapped on the grill. The tacos were perfect and the fillings and vegetables were delicious!

This looks like a great place to eat.....
I deleted the first comment which was spam!!
I think I'll need a diet very soon...
Hi Kate, great post, the Mexican tacos are widely used all over the country, there are places were are superb, I remember a few: Aguacate (avocado) with Nopales and Chicharron, with Carnitas ( pork meat), with potatos and sausage, with multiple kind of fish, and so on. Greetings from MC.
Is the first lady and the second lady the same person?
Her face looks so different in each of the shots.
I could never eat a taco, but I'm SO HUNGRY right now, lol, maybe I'd give in just once!
I've been getting a lot of that spam lately!
Dough? They made the tortillas from scratch? Bet they are good, along with everything else they made.
I love the concentration and obvious care and pride shown in the faces of these ladies. Super portraits Kate and the food was obviously good too!
Isn't it just the height of luxury to have someone prepare your dinner? I think men have known this forever and women have learned it in the last generation or two.
What a nice treat it is to have not only the food prepared for you but be entertained by the process. When will you be back in the States? This is quite a vacation - yupp, I AM envious Kate.
Blessed Easter to you and yours.
That makes me feel VERY hungry.Lat time we were in Mexico we ate Taccos and they were so delicious and tasty.
I can see you are having a good time over there :-)
Wow. This is a set of excellent photos, Kate. I like the idea of them preparing the food while you all were able to watch. They look like they are doing their work with a great deal of pride in what they do.
Abe

Ummmmm! Fresh homemade tortillas and fillings. It doesn't get any better.
The Meow Mixer looks like a grand time was had by all.
Good Morning Kate!...I just dropped in for my "early morning pig's head" and am overjoyed to find it replaced by these wonderful ladies at their craft!!
A lovely little collage. In fact, a nice week of shots with the foggy lighthouse and all.
Greetings to you, as always.
