Isla is a shelter dog who was adopted by a resident of Stone Island, Mazatlán, México. She spends her day roaming the beach, visiting residents and sunbathing tourists until her owner comes to collect her and take her home. When she was in the shelter my husband who volunteers there often walked her. When we recently went to the beach to relax, sunbathe and eat good food, Isla recognized him and spent the day with us. That really is a love story. Dogs are such worthy animals.
Kate, I love this story and the photo. how pleased you must have been to see her again and running free like this. Sorry for lack of comments, been a bit of a nightmare here with Mia who now destroys everything...

I would not want to be in a shelter, but it sounds like Isla has an awesome life now.
I think I'd be a good beach bum!
Wonderful photo and story! Thanks!
it doesn't surprise me at all that she recognized your husband. They are pretty smart little critters. Yes, Kate, this surgery is suppose to be the last of what we have to do for my shoulder. the nerves have regenerated as much as they are going to...so next step!
Isla really does have the life. This is a great story.
Isla looks pretty comfy under the chair. How delightful that must have been to renew acquaintences and spend theday together.
What a pooped looking pooch :) I'm glad I stopped by.
I think I would like to roam the beach for a change!
She seems very content hanging out on the beach. I'm glad her story had a happy ending.
I love that she remembered your husband, how wonderful!!
So sweet!
That's not such a bad life, is it?

That is so neat that remembered him. Cute dog!
Kate: Looks like he is trying to get cool in the shade.
A lovely beachlife for this little dog. Wonderful story.
Ahhhh to have a dog recognize you, especially when you have befriended it in the past... it's such an honor. Sweet photo, and a sweet story.
