The Twins

While in Mazatlán I volunteer at the English Reading library and Jaime volunteers at Amigos de los Animales. Both of us are involved with fund raisers to relieve the lives of stray street animals. Interested animal lovers who live and visit here help, for example, by capturing strays (often bedraggled, sick, neglected, and frightened), taking them to vets, neutering, and, in the case of cats, releasing the animals after the surgery. One individual has, in addition, provided a "kitty orphanage" on the roof of her apartment building. If she had not found them, rescued them, and provided for their health and well-being, these twins certainly would have died. She now has 11 orphans, hoping that some people will adopt each one.

Adorable cats and a very worthwhile cause. The greatest challenge facing my mother-in-law in traveling to developing countries is that she cannot stand to see the condition of some of the animals who live in the streets. Thank you for the work you are doing.

They are real sweeties. I hope they're soon adopted but there are so many stray animals out there looking for homes..

Awww, I'll take those two! How cute. I remember when my big lump of a cat was a cute little kitten. How they grow!

My daughter, Rebecca, has 11 cats, more or less. She has had them all fixed so they are not able to reproduce. She feeds them and takes care of them and two more are now house cats. And, she is allergic to cats.

The cat, Baby Kitty, that we have that came with our other daughter and granddaughter when she moved back home, is also from those that Becky had. His mother had AIDS and that was discovered when she was being tested prior to having her "fixed" and so she was put to sleep.

Anyway, I am not nuts about cats but can put up with them and since I don't have a dog anymore, I have grown to like this black panther they named Baby Kitty.

I like your photographs of the kittens. They look so neat to me and will, I am sure, make somebody very happy when they have their new homes.

So glad they were saved. Surely, they will find a cat lover to adopt them soon!

Kate...GREAT News!!!! The twins got adopted together with another ´orphan´ named Boots...a gorgeous black and white heartbreaker!!! All three have gone to a wonderful home of a woman originally from Oregan who used to do wildlife rehab work...so they should be well loved and looked after. They were absolutely the BEST babies. MT
