His color is wonderful! I could not imagine holding him - makes me shiver. :)

They're definitely a food source south of the border, but I've always enjoyed their non-culinary aspects.

That size probably wouldn't be a good pet, though; they can use that long tail like a whip!

Great shot!

I love iguanas. They are so prehistoric looking. I love the texture of their skin and the colors. I am glad you enjoyed the cactus and bird nests on my site. You are correct that this was a strange but fascinating cactus. I will have more Chihuly and cactus coming up and a tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West over the next few weeks.

Oh, my goodness ... buy him, but not eat him! I used to help clip iguana nails when I volunteered at an educational petting zoo. Someone would have the tail .... you can imagine!

This or a baby calf. I suppose it depends on where a person is born. I see the natives in the jungles of South America cutting down a kind of palm tree to get out these thumb-size white grubs with brownish heads. They are supposed to be filled with protein and taste something like vanilla custard or a little old yogurt. Yummy.

Judged from the picture alone I would have put him gently down :-)

I'd say he's a good-looking fella, but I don't even know if it's a male. ;-) Cool photo.

Not sure my pallet would like the taste of this little critter!

I think it was a good decision to photograph it over dinning on it ;)

You picked up the colour beautifully.

Such a beautiful iguana. I had a friend whose daughter kept one as a pet for years. Great photo!
