Open Mike Night

Canucks is a bar/restaurant where many of the expat and snowbird Canadians congregate to socialize. We don't qualify geographically as Minnesotans but the music performances there on a nightly basis appeals to us: blues, rock, rhythm and blues plus the Canadians dance up a storm and it's fun to watch. (Jaime doesn't like to dance; can you imagine, and I suffer mightily because of no partner!!) On Monday nights the stage is open to professional and amateur performers, and there always are pleasant surprises. Last Monday a number of visiting musicians and vocalists performed. This man is a visiting vacationer (I think); if I discover otherwise, I'll correct the information later. Another musician, Danny B, a talented entertainer and harmoniCat is in town. On Thursday he's going to perform and we're going 'cuz he is a really hot harmonica musician--heard him last year and am so happy he's in town again. Although he moves around on stage quite a bit and is hard to photograph,I'll try to get some decent photos. Stay tuned!!

Open mike night--when all things are possible. Nice shot, just as it is.

That handsome hubby of yours does not dance??!! I feel your pain.

Note to Jaime: Dude, it is imperative that you take up dancing!

Would at least Jaime let you dance with someone else? ... Nice to see that you have good times, despite the non-dancing!

I'll look forward to that. I know the absence of a dancing partner. Always had one. My last boyfriend was just expressing an interest in dancing when he was also expressing an interest in his ex. So. Exit the dance floor, thank you very much!

We used to have open mic nights at several bars in Cheltenham. It was always a good night out. Glad you are enjoying yours and if I'm ever in your neck of the woods I'll dance with you!

Kate -
Great shot, you go the exposure right, it's hard to shoot performance images like this with the black background, but you did it!

Looks like you are having fun down there, I'll have to figure out a way to get out of this place some winter.

You are so quick to visit my site everyday, thank you! I'll go find some mittens today, I promise.

Ah, Kate, even the "nightlife is the good life" in Mazatlan. Before this post I have always thought of it as sun and sea. Dance, dance alone, it will bring even more smiles to your face which, I think, was smiling as you wrote this post.

Ah, Kate, to danse or not to danse, vast question for many couples! My husband is a great dancer (rock and roll), I like dancing too but I'm far from his skill...Teasing me, he says the reason why we can't easely dance together is because I don't like to obey him!
Thank you for visiting ArradonDP, mimosa's fragrance is so delightful, you must come here and enjoy it!

Very nice shot.
I don't dance, either, so I can relate to Jaime.
Thanks so much for putting the thermometer on the blog :-)
