Day of Mourning

Day of Mourning for my beloved Packers: New York Giants 23-Green Bay Packers 20. ADDED LATER: NFL Joke

Eli Manning, Brett Favre and Tom Brady are standing
before God.

God asks Eli Manning first: "What do you believe?"
Eli thinks long and hard, looks God in the eye, and says,
"I believe in hard work, and in staying true to family and friends. I
believe in giving. I was lucky, but I always tried to do right by my
fans." God can't help but see the essential goodness of Manning,
and offers him a seat to his left.

Then God turns to Brett Favre and says, "What do you believe?"
Favre says, "I believe passion, discipline, courage and honor are
the fundamentals of life. I, too, have been lucky, but win or lose,
I've always tried to be a true sportsman, both on and off the playing
fields." God is greatly moved by Favre's sincere eloquence, and he
offers him a seat to his right.

Finally, God turns to Tom Brady: "And you, Tom, what do you believe?"
Tom replies, "I believe you're in my seat."

I'm so sorry, Kate...we were rooting for them, too! Who are you going to be cheering for now?

Flat, they just looked flat in the second half. I'd never seen them look so lifeless all season. Favre's passing was out of sync, the defense couldn't stop the Giants. What a bummer it was to see them lose this way.

That Vikings team the past years leave me very little to cheer for but the Packers.

I went to bed when it was 20 to 20 and woke up to read the news that the Packers lost. I don't think they have anybody to blame and I do think the Giants were lucky to have won - they made a lot of mistakes and had they not made them the score would have been really nasty.

Different comments on different blogs! Some bloggers seem to be happy! (I'm neutral, know very little about this game...)

It would have been nice to see the Packers in the Super Bowl.
They're always a sentimental favorite.
Love the joke :)

Now that's a funny joke!

I think it would have been a great game Chargers v Packers. Not to be this year, but if there is something I learned watching the Vikings for so long... "there's always next year!"

We were rooting for the Packers also but the Giants did play better last night. They didn't play great (botched field goals) but they played better than the Packers last night. I hope they manage in Arizona. I am happy for Eli and also for Tynes the kicker. Can you imagine if he missed another one?!

Your black screen of mourning was a great respite for my eyes...tried out by a long celebration of the Giants!

Sorry ;-)

(PS My Santa post missed by a mile - no one could see from the photo that both of the figures were moving to the same beat!)
