Dinner?

My favorite place to shop is the El Centro Mercado. Merchandise of all kinds can be found there: pots and pans, clothing of all kinds, souvenirs for tourists plus an abundance of food--spices, grains, herbs, dairy products, fruits, vegetables, and all kinds of meat. When my small granddaughter has been with me she immediately heads to the pigs' heads which fascinate her. Although I love the hustle and bustle of the market and its energy, I usually head the other way!

I am glad we don't eat people. That would be hard to look at.

For a break. Come over and click the link about Charley. Your grandchildren would love it too.

Somehow not so nice to see, but it's anyhow nice to see that all food is not square and under plastic at super markets!

Ah, pig's head, but where are those suculant baby back ribs?? mmmm, BBQ pork!

Well, I must say as you are down in the land of warm sun, the sun is shining here, and it is a whopping -1 degree F, -18 degrees C. Supposed to get colder too. (Why is it we live here again?) ;)

I'm happy to see this head on the afternoon and not on my breakfast time!

Dear Lord, if that doesn't make you a vegetarian...

Kate - You asked about my post today, I made the collage in Photoshop. There are many photo editing programs that are a lot less expensive though. You might consider Photoshop Elements, it’s included with several products like printers and cameras. It’s very powerful for the price.

Howdy! I browsed a little through your posts and noticed that you posted the piggy head twice this month. Why?

Fenix, thanks for the tip since I was unaware that this post was on the blog twice. And since we were not even in Mazatlan on Jan 1, it's a mystery. Must be blogspot voodoo!!

It's easy to be squeamish when we are used to buying our food in ways which make it almost unrecognisable in terms of its origins. But really great reminder - cos although I'm not fond of pig meat generally, the sheep and cows I do like to eat look like this too!
