Living in another culture often brings many surprises. One practice that is very different from mine is the presence of dogs on roofs of buildings, both public and private, used as a means of security. Some are very intimidating. This one that was walking the edge of one roof seemed particularly vigilant, neither as fierce nor as noisy as some I have seen. To see more Camera Critters photos, check

What a lovely dalmatian, Kate. Seems very sure footed!
Dogs on roofs...I thought that was a cat's job!
Beautiful dog! You've captured his wonderful pose!
He's beautiful, gorgeous shot.
Hi Kate! Dogs on roofs! That's certainly something I'd like to see! Have a great weekend!
We also don't have dogs in roofs here, sounds quite strange! maybe cats if so ;)
have a nice weekened!
Cheers form Madrid!
He looks like a good watch dog. Our neighbor has a dalmation, they seem to be very smart dogs. I would be afraid it would jump off the roof after a cat
That's sure different! He looks very imposing.
Beautiful dalmation. Down the street, there is an apartment on the second floor and a dog who spends his time on the roof of the porch of the apartment below. I always look for him on my walks.
how fascinating !1Sandy
Wow, I have never seen dogs on a roof. only cats. And squirrel.
not so sure I would like an angry dog staring 'down' at me!
Well spotted! (get it spotted...Dalmatian...never mind!)
How interesting that watch dogs watch from the roof tops!
Wow, I wasn't aware of such a practice of having dogs on roofs. That's a very beautiful dog. I think I feel like it's better security to have my dog on the other side of my door ;-)
They are pretty dogs. I know it's the preferred dog of Richard Simmons (the fitness guru).
I love this picture!
Wait a minute? They live on the roofs? Do they ever come down? How odd.
