Folk Dance

There is always something interesting happening at the Plaza Machado. On Thursday night a dance troup of adolescent girls presented several folk dances in stunning costumes. Tomorrow I'll post another photo of a different girl in another folk costume.

Lovely to see the folk dances of different countries. Nice that they keep them "alive".

Lovely girl and a beautiful costume. You captured her motion so well.

You captured her like a beautiful flower!

Have a happy weekend! ( Is it last one in Mazatlan in this time? )

Kate, you portraits are so animated and expressive...maybe you should compile them for a book on "Faces of Mazatlan".

You are out and about, soaking up the life of Mazatlan, Kate. Thank you for sharing it with all of us.

Little Rock is probably 750 miles south of St. Paul.

Thanks for the great complement, Isabella. It's a good idea; I don't have nearly enough plus I'd have to get better equipment. I do love taking portraits, tho, especially if they're candid. Rather than buy more cameras which I'd love to do, I'm saving all my shekels for travel, AND I'm returning to Maz again next winter. Getting to know lots of good folks here now!!

The little girl yesterday, this beautiful woman today and so many others, i believe you when you say you like to take portraits. I think we need to like our subject when we take a photo, don't you think so?

Well said alice. Kate, loving these kind of shots you're able to catche them at the best and please don't forget that camera it's only the 25 per cent on a photo, then it's the photographer that make the difference.

I love your photos of people so open and honest.
The way you've captured the way her skirt is moving is beautiful.
