On the Beach

While having lunch in a restaurant above the beach, I noticed this old man with a cane walking past. Despite his slow pace, before I could grab my camera he had passed too quickly for a photo of his wonderful face. If I had only been on the beach! What a wonderful conversation we might have had!!

Perhaps this is The Old Man and the Sea.

Your photo is very nice from this angle. I read once that photos should be taken head on but I have always enjoyed seeing them from this perspective.

We've enjoyed dandelion wine here though I've never tried making the jam. Someday . . .

I know the feeling---sometimes I wish I could be faster on the draw with both my camera and my ability to respond to the moment! In any event, a good photo.

I like when you post about people over there. I know its always a risk since lot of them prefer to hide. But it seems you are great at finding models:)

I had the same remark that Carol E. And if it were the fantome of Ernest Hemingway.

I like the solitary feel of the old man walking. Alone with the many footprints in the sand.
Great capture.

Wonderful photographs. One could write a whole story about this man and the face would be in the imagination of the writer - and we'd all write a different story! Love the photos, Kate.

Man I thought I had the coolest comment, but then realized 'Carol E' used it already. I thought I would be so keen.

It's a great idea to post the picture of this old wise man after the cute little girl yesterday. There is quite a great deal of sensitivity in both of them.

Papa Hemingway himself!
I prefer his silhouette than en face - we can imagine his weathered face...Great photo!

I agree with isabella and me too I prefer to imagine his weathered face. Sometime it's better to let disclose at the mind :-)
