Carnaval

Since I'm late posting today (this vacation is getting exhausting :-)!!), I thought y'all deserved a treat. The 5-day Carnaval festival began yesterday and these are two decorations in Plaza Machado, the main square in El Centro. Note the sizes compared with the people sitting on the park benches. Tonight we're going to the Coronation, and tomorrow we'll try to get within viewing distance of the Parade! Stay tuned!!

I just happened to stumble on this site while using google to check the spelling of Mazatlan. My wife and I got back to OR 25 Jan, after a week in Mazatlan, and your photos brought us right back there. Enjoyed looking at them, and we enjoyed Mazatlan. LEE

Doesn't this look more Greek than Mexican? In any case a festival regardless of where it is held...is just plain fun :)

goodness, I watch in awe as day after day you go to concerts, galleries, house tours carnivals, sailing, dog walking, teaching.... I think you cram more into your vacation than most of us do into our daily working lives, no wonder you are exhausted!
