Mazatlán-A Working City

I think that a tourist might select a different scene to represent Mazatlán--probably sea, sand, and surf with some night life added, but I believe that a citizen might think of something a bit different. Since it is a working city I chose a returning fishing boat to represent one of its industries.

I like your choice here. Good point, sometimes we forget the behind the scenes while on vacation. And those behind the scenes make for interesting photos.

The day's catch for fine seafood dining. And it has two of my favorite elements, big body of water and a boat!

What a great picture, Kate. I think the locals would agree with your choice, yes.

Happy theme day!

Warm greetings from wintry Finland to you, Kate!
Thinking those, who are working there, is very kind. You are such a person, I have noticed it already before.
Have a happy weekend!

Beautiful photo! You're right, I would not think of it as representative...but I bet you eat a lot of fresh seafood there. Great choice!

That rock looks pretty amazing! Such a nice photo of a fishing boat. I think of the colours of Mexico (via your blog) when I think of Mazatlan - but that's probably Mexico in general, not specifically the city.

Thanks for posting early Kate, it's a pleasure to see this photo. A surprise for me, I didn't expect that sort of scenery in the background. I hope we get to see more landscapes in the future.

Kate your photo of boats dated 28 Jan is just MAGNIFICENT !

I'm back in the CDB ring and participating in the theme day today.

This is what is so good about this CDP community - we see things through the eyes of a 'local'. Great choice and nice photo.

I wish you a nice weekend with nice seafood!

I am with you, Kate. This is an impressive photograph, to me, maybe because we have no water deeper than my knees anywhere close.

Lovely setting - the boat against that marvellous cliff face.

For once I'm not running with the theme this month.

Nice photo Kate. It is interesting because I think you have a predilection for workers...I love your MN workers series and here you've found the heart of the city as well. :)

I wonder what they are bringing home for supper or for sale.

ah, the difference between perception and reality. Tourist sees things much differently than a resident. It's all about perspective. Thanks for mentioning that distinction.
