On Tuesday I was sitting in a stalled bus behind a long line of immobile buses and cars, with pedestrians lining the sidewalk. Rather than wait for the traffic to become untangled, I got off to see what was causing the impossible jam. A parade of trucks, carts, and cars loaded with high-school-aged boys and girls were having the time of their lives hooting, yelling, and snaking their way through the narrow streets of El Centro. Everybody loves a parade??!! I know I did!

Why were they having the parade? I love the balloons!
What fun photos! Our whole family enjoys parades...and circuses, and fairs, too. My DH even *has* to attend the grand openings of stores, movie theaters...you name it. :)
I can see why people say that. Parades make people happy at least it does for me.
That's a really great montage, Kate!
Very festive & everybody seems to be having a great time. You got very good shots.
love your collage Kate.
looks like they were having lots of fun.
I feel that some parades are quite artificial, but this one seems to be really nice!!
Everyone looks like they are having a ball or good time.
Since you were stuck in traffic, I wonder how expensive gasoline is there?
Drop dead gorgeous woman there!
Chris et al, I wish I knew the reason for the parade. Parades and fiestas are numerous here, and I even wonder if the locals are aware of the reasons?! We'll still be here for Easter Week so that should be a real blast, or so I've been told.
Oh yes, we all love a parade. Love the photos.
Getting off the bus was definitely a winner. You would have missed what appears to have been a very colorful, fun and dynamic event. Beautiful youngsters.
Brilliant that you came across such an interesting event! Love the photos.
Cute kids and it looks like a fun parade.
I like your collage treatment too.
A parade is always fun. I have an award for you on my blog.
