House Tour #6

Back to the house tours, and as long as I have a painting and portrait thread, I think you might enjoy this one. The lady of the house had her portrait painted, which was prominently placed in the home. If the house tours are any indication, Mexicans love to display family pictures. Some homes had entire walls with family portraits on display, often quite formal, too.

how interesting.
these families must be very rich to have commissioned their paintings.

Très chic!

She's quite lovely. I would find it quite unnerving to have a big picture of myself being the focal point of the room. Its a nice portrait though.

She was very beautiful, and I love that the painter captured her as happy and friendly-looking. I'll bet that she is a lovely person.

Spanish people are very much into family & they tend to photograph ( & evidently paint) everything of signifigance that happens in the family.
Now, video, is of course popular!
